Rock and Roll

Day 4
Big day for the Tour de France -the timed trials were in Hyde Park and the city was crazy busy! Traffic was diverted everywhere so no one knew where they were going-including the bus drivers. Went on the big bus again-we love to sit on the top open air deck. It takes a bit getting used to those turns and hoping you don't crash into a tree or castle.
Got off at the Marble Arch and went down Oxford Street. There were so many people it really felt like Manhattan at 5 pm on a Friday-people literally bumping you, but instead of saying "Excuse me" they all say "sorry".
Took the rock and roll tour and started at Abbey Rd-can't get into the studio itself but naturally we took "the picture". Nic was totally bummed out about not seeing the studio. We learned lots about the Stones, Eric Clapton, Freddie Mercury and naturally the Beatles. We saw Paul's house, Ringo's, Freddie's house (turns out he also had a wife). Where we were was very "posh" according to our nice East ender tour guide Lawrence.
We went through St. John's Wood, Notting Hill, Chelsea, Belgravia, Earl's Court and Holland Park-they were all beautiful.
Came home for a few minutes and then met Jeanie and Cooper for dinner.
Now we're pooped again, but ready to do it all over again tomorrow.
Ellen joins us tomorrow.

Hi Nan,

I'm exhausted just reading your blog. Glad to hear you are not wasting any time relaxing :) I miss you. Tell Jeanie and Ellen "hi" for me.
